Solution 01

Run different camera brands from one operator position

A rental house owns what its clients ask for. Each manufacturer imposes its own panel, its own protocol and its own training. Cyanview replaces that estate with one.

01 — The problem

One panel per brand does not scale

Manufacturer panels control only their own brand. A Sony RCP-3501 handles 99 cameras — but only Sony system cameras. On a mixed show that means several control positions, several trainings, and prep time before every single job.

On a multi-shader show the problem compounds. Each engineer works a different interface, with different scales and different names for the same parameter. Handover is impossible and consistency is manual.

02 — What we do about it

One control estate across the whole fleet

A single layer above the protocols exposes one vocabulary to the operator, with per-camera profiles maintained by Cyanview and pushed in firmware. The panel does not change when the camera does.

Identical parameter mapping on identical panels means several vision engineers can work the same show and hand over mid-match without translating.

03 — Why it holds up

What this actually buys you

01

One training

A shader learns the panel once, not once per brand on the truck.

02

Profiles ship in firmware

New camera models arrive continuously. The Sony SDK alone refreshes about four times a year and Cyanview tracks it.

03

Licence-level upgrades

Capacity grows without replacing panels, so migrating an estate is defensible on capability rather than price.

04

Cameras become rentable

Bodies that had no control path become production cameras — and inventory you can rent.

Field report
“CyanView's solution was a perfect fit for NEP, filling an important gap in the market for vision engineers and solving many problems related to the use of multiple cameras of different brands in complex workflows.”
